On Saturday, February 2^nd, 2013, the Azerbaijan Community Center was pleased to open its doors for the first annual Azerbaijan Music Night and new member meet and greet.

Friends, visitors and members of the community joined together to enjoy traditional Azerbaijani music played by musician and frequent guest entertainer at the Azerbaijan House Ali Haghshenas, who always entertains our guests by playing the garmon for us.  We also had the great pleasure of introducing new HBSCA members to current members.

In addition to Ali’s beautiful music, we were also lucky to have with us visitors from Germany, who accompanied Ali by singing beautiful and moving traditional songs.

As song and dance are a mainstay of Azerbaijani gatherings, so are delicious food and drinks.  Azerbaijan Music Night was also a pot luck, where members of the community were invited to bring a little taste of their own.  The community center was filled with the delicious smells of traditional Azerbaijani delicacies, sweet treats and aromatic teas. 

Thank you friends and volunteer for all the hard work that went into this night, it was great seeing new friends and sampling everyone’s delicious home made food!  We hope to see you at our next gathering.
